Jean Jacques Bourgeois belgium — 1946

Jean Jacques Bourgeois (1946-1984, Untitled, 1975, Oil on canvas, 130 x 150 cm

Jean Jacques Bourgeois °1946

MONOCHROME. A single colour but from which the intensity may vary. Jean jacques Bourgeois was an abstract Belgian painter who's oeuvre is not very well known. His paintings are part of the collections of the French Communauté de Belgique, in province of Haunaut and Doornik, Mouscron as well as in many private collections. He was professor of painting in the'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Tournai'as from 1981 where he teached until he passed away. His monochrome and abstract works have something alienating and fascinating to look at. Very sensitive colour shifts give the abstract paitings a contemplative character.
